    1. (C) Rajgir, Bihar

    The 2024 Women’s Asian Champions Trophy held from November 11 to 20 at Rajgir Hockey Stadium, Bihar. This is the first international hockey tournament in Bihar. The Indian women’s hockey team, led by new captain Salima Tete, will defend their title. Top teams participating include China (Paris Olympics silver medallists), Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand. The tournament highlights Bihar’s growing role in hosting international sports events.

    2. (B) West Bengal

    The Toto tribe, with fewer than 1,600 members, lives in Totopara village, West Bengal, near the Bhutan border. They are a Tibetan-Mongoloid ethnic group and are considered one of the most endangered tribes, categorized as a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG). Their language, Toto, is Sino-Tibetan, written in the Bengali script. Totos are endogamous and follow a unique culture of having only one wife and opposing dowry practices. They live in elevated bamboo huts with thatched roofs and are facing identity struggles and poor infrastructure.

    3. (A) Music

    Pandit Ram Narayan, the legendary Sarangi maestro, passed away at the age of 96 in Mumbai. He was a renowned Hindustani musician, known for his mastery of the Sarangi. He received several prestigious awards, including the Padma Vibhushan and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. His death has led to tributes from across India, including from Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan.

    4. (C) Ministry of Health and Family WelfareThe Rajasthan College Education

    Commissionerate directed 20 government colleges to paint their facades and entry halls orange under the Kayakalp Scheme. The Kayakalp Scheme, launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in 2015 under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, aims to promote cleanliness and improve healthcare quality. It focuses on cleanliness, hygiene, infection control, and eco-friendly practices in Public Health Facilities (PHFs). The scheme rewards PHFs for outstanding cleanliness and hygiene and encourages regular assessment. Assessments occur at three levels: internal, peer, and external, with scores documented yearly to track improvements.
