SSC Stenographer Notification 2025-261 Vacancies for Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Posts
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ for the year 2025. This national-level examination aims to fill stenographer vacancies in various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India. Interested and eligible candidates with stenography skills can apply online within the specified dates.
Total Number of Vacancies:
Approximately 261 vacancies (tentative and subject to change).
Post-wise Details:
Stenographer Grade ‘C
Number of Posts: To be notified post department-wise allocation.
Age Limit: 18 to 30 years as on 01.08.2025 (Born between 02.08.1995 and 01.08.2007).
Educational Qualification: 12th standard or
equivalent from a recognized Board.
Skill Test: Dictation at 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for 10 minutes; transcription in 40 minutes (English) or 55 minutes (Hindi).
Stenographer Grade ‘D’
Number of Posts: To be notified post department-wise allocation.
Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as on 01.08.2025 (Born between 02.08.1998 and 01.08.2007).
Educational Qualification: 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized Board.
Skill Test: Dictation at 80 w.p.m. for 10 minutes; transcription in 50 minutes (English) or 65 minutes (Hindi).
Eligibility Criteria
• Must possess 12th pass qualification.
• Should have stenography skills in English or Hindi.
• Age relaxation applicable as per government norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ESM candidates.

• One-Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory.
• Photograph will be captured live during the online application process.
• Aadhaar-based authentication is encouraged for faster processing.
Application Fee
• 100/- only for General/OBC candidates.
• Exempted: SC/ST, PwBD, Ex-servicemen, and all female candidates.
